Contraindications
• severe hepatic impairment or severe active liver disease
Drug interactions
• cholestyramine, probenecid, alcohol, carbamazepine, isoniazid, lamotrigine
Cautions
• limit acetaminophen dose to <4 g/day (adults)
• use with caution in patients with alcoholic liver disease, known G6PD deficiency, hepatic impairment, or active liver disease.
Adverse Effects (common and severe)• nausea
• vomiting
• acute liver failure
• fatal skin reactions including Stevens-Johnson syndrome and • toxic epidermal necrolysis

325-650mg three or four times a day
Monitoring• liver enzymes for chronic use
